A fishing village 30 km west of Fortaleza where the trade wind blows from the east and south-east almost every day from July to January. The open beach has small waves and a side-onshore wind; the Cauípe lagoon, a short drive west, gives flat water for lessons and freestyle. Fortaleza's airport is about 45 minutes away by road.
