A town in the Columbia River Gorge where summer heat east of the Cascades pulls a strong westerly up the river from June to September. The wind blows against the current and raises steep swell, and barges share the channel, so riders need solid upwind skills. Portland's airport is about an hour west. As a river spot it has no wave forecast.
Hood River is a kitesurfing spot in Oregon, USA. The usual season is Jun–Sep; outside it, good days are rarer.
